ASDA Direct - ASDA Direct Online Shop Review

About Asda Direct:

Asda -  which is a British supermarket store that retails commodities such as food, cloths, toys and other general merchandise, was founded as Associated Dairies & Farm Stores Limited in 1949 in Leeds. Yet its roots can be tracked down to 1920s. In the year 1999, the American retail giant Wal-Mart who is the worlds largest retailer took over Asda. Currently, Asda is Wal-Mart’s largest non-US subsidiary which accounts for almost half of the company’s international sales.

Introduction:

The Asda direct is a part of Asda and in this section, you will have exclusive accesses to your garden requirements, home ware, furniture, electrical appliances, toys, baby goods, DIY and motor, sports and leisure, jewellery, gifts and lots more. In the following review, we will be having a look at each of the sections in detail.

ASDA Direct - Home page design and navigation:

The website design of the Asda direct has a green and black theme which looks unique and different form the other online shopping sites which mostly have the blue and white theme. The home page as such looks well organised. The home page does not give any information on what the whole site is about but it has a display of a list of four products on each category. You will be able to find a few offers displayed towards the right end, which makes the site look a bit colourful and just below that some of the other site owned by Asda are listed. At the bottom most part of the site, as in the case of the other sites, it has information on its history, customer service and other service facilities.

Search bar is available which will ask for the keyword or the product code so that you can have a look at the products that you are looking for without having to search through this big site. Just next to the search bar, you will be having your “View basket and checkout box” which lists the number of items and the amount that you have spent. There are no navigational menus offered on both the sides of the site, which means you will have to scroll up each time you want to have a look at the menu options. Except for this blot in the part of navigation, the overall  design and navigational options provided are satisfactory.
